Introduction

There is shortage of well trained and experienced SAS Programmers and Biostatistcians in USA, and in India as well. India is a preferred country for outsourcing of work from USA, Europe and Japan for statistical analysis, SAS programming, medical writing, and data management of clinical trials, taking advantage of qualified manpower and resources available at a low cost, and to shorten the clinical development timelines. Major pharmaceutical and biotech multinational companies consider India as one the most favorable destination for enrollment of a major proportion of patients for conducting global clinical trials. Recent amendments by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on behalf of the Government of India, in drug development regulations have facilitated the interest of many pharmaceutical and biotech multinational companies in India. As a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), India is committed to upholding the Trade-Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) agreement. Many MNCs have created their own facilities for clinical data management and analysis of clinical trials data in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi (Gurgaon and Noida), Poona, and other major cities in India, in addition to Indian Contract Research Organizations (CROs). Pharmaceutical industry will always have need of SAS Programmers and Biostatistician jobs with good compensation. Training will be on real clinical trial data, similar to an on-the-job training.

Statistical SAS Programmer

This tratining is intended for candidates interested in pursuing career as a SAS Programmer/Analyst in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry. SAS is the main software used across the world for analysis and reporting of clinical trials data. Participants will be trained in SAS programming for analysis and reporting of clinical trials data. Participants should be ready for a job in the industry after successful completion of the training.

Biostatistician

Candidates will be trained using given curriculum. Training will be provided in review of protocols and CRFs, writing of SAPs, calculating sample size, creating tables and listings layouts/mock, programming specifications, writing of statistical section of protocol and CSRs. Performing posthoc analysis to support publication group. Sufficient hand on experience will be given on programming and validation of statistical inferential summary tables and graphs using SAS software. Beginners should be ready for a job in the pharmaceutical industry after successful completion of the training. Candidates with some prior experience as a Biostatician could benefit from this training in strengthening their skills set, and propmoting to a Senior Statistician position.

Coordinator & Instructors

Training will be coordinated by Dr. Vijay Chauhan, Ph.D., and conducted by 2 Statisticians and 4 highly experienced Programmers. One-on-one mentoring will provided to each participant. All candidates will be supported and guided for problem solving in first 3 months of their job after training.
